What are Groups?

Find out a little more about how we structure our groups.

What are groups?

We believe that meeting in smaller networks helps us to better grow as disciples of Jesus, live together in community, and engage in the mission of God.

At Gateway, we work this out through small groups of Christians meeting right across the town, growing as disciples, and encouraging one another into mission everywhere and every day; groups centred around discipleship, community, and mission, giving each of us the opportunity to move from consumers to contributors.

Groups always have a blend of community, discipleship, and mission, but are primarily formed around one of the following:

People: gathering with others to grow as disciples and fuel each other into mission. Everyone may have different spaces they're engaging in mission, but the key is fuelling disciple-making and mission as a community.

Place: growing as a community of disciples on mission to a common place (e.g. your neighbourhood or workplace).

Passion: growing as a community of disciples on mission around a common 'passion' (e.g. refugees, serving families, a particular demographic) or a common hobby/interest (e.g. football, books, crafts).
